adoption and fostering info session

by Annake Bester (Kibwe)

“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” Romans 8:15 (NIV)
As Christians, being adopted into God’s family through His son Jesus Christ is a beautiful, challenging, life-long process of redemption, salvation, love and growth. And, particularly in a country like South Africa, where there is an orphan crisis, expanding our families through adoption is a natural response to our faith.

More and more Shofar members are adopting and fostering children and there’s a growing need for information and support for those who are embarking on this exciting but, at times, very daunting journey.

That’s why <href=”http://www.kibwekids.org/”>Kibwe, the NGO mandated with orphan care within our church family, will be hosting an info session for anyone who’s interested in finding out more about adoption and fostering on Sunday 14 February 2016 at <href=”https://shofaronline.org/stellenbosch”>Shofar Stellenbosch.

In the session we’ll talk about things like:

  • our Biblical mandate to care for orphans
  • our vision for orphan care within Shofar
  • defining fostering and adoption
  • the basics of the process
  • how to start

We’ll also hear testimonies from families in Shofar who’ve already adopted and fostered and you’ll have a chance to chat to them.

Sign up here to receive confirmed info about the session.
